What is BLAXTAIR?

An intelligent, on-board camera, the BLAXTAIR is designed to prevent collisions occurring between industrial trucks and pedestrians working within the industrial site. The solution allows for efficient work within the industrial site that is not hindered by the possibility of collisions within the workplace.  By detecting any obstacles that may come across its path, the machine then is able to recognise if the obstacle is a pedestrian or not by analysing its shape. Should there be any imminent risk to a person, the driver of the vehicle will be alerted straight away, allowing for the prevention of a potentially fatal collision. In order not to impede on productivity, however, the system will only warn the driver when necessary, allowing them to carry out their work as normal except if there is a serious threat of harm or danger.

Why is it important to specifically detect pedestrians?

Most people operating traditional obstacle detection systems know that they can hinder rather than help operations. Where BLAXTAIR differs from this is that it will raise an alarm solely if there is a pedestrian in danger of being struck by the vehicle in question. On top of this, BLAXTAIR ensures total pedestrian safety without unnecessary alarms which may distract the operator, allowing for a productive yet safe workplace.
