Also called ‘clearance height’, a forklift’s closed height is the minimum height of a truck when the mast is fully lowered. It is measured from the floor to the highest point of the lowered mast.

Why is closed height important?

Closed height is an important factor when it comes to practicality. You must ensure that your forklift’s closed height is not too tall for the areas of your workplace that it will be required to navigate e.g. doorways, lorry containers.
